I want to hire!

To check our latest avalibility head over to our AirBnB listing to check our the calendar. We dont use AirBnB generally for bookings (so ignore the inflated pricing on there!) as we are hoping to keep Shellonyourback contained for people in our local area, such as people who have found us on the facebook page "Voice For Locks Heath" or seen us driving around locally, or for friends, friends of friends and our other close contacts at work and the gym - big up AllMankind and Ladies Bootcamp!
2024 is the second season for Shellonyourback so this is kinda new to us too, so we want to keep it simple for now while we test the process and can trust our users.
We can’t wait to let you enjoy our campervan!! we are sure that you are going to have a fantastic time, but first we must tackle some boring stuff, so grab a cuppa and please read carefully.

Naturally, the van is a much-loved asset and part of my family so before you can grab the keys and make some memories, we have a few things that need to be provided before your hire to cover you and us.
Please confirm that you have read our full rental agreement under the FAQ section on our website here and agree with it. The main particulars which must be provided are briefly summarised below regarding costs, ID etc for you to make an informed decision on committing to hire.

Please note all documentation must be dated within 90 days of the hire and be sent to Shellonyourback via email (shellonyourback@hotmail.com) or Instagram/Facebook messenger to the main @shellonyourback profile 42 days before your rental, or within 48 hours of being requested for bookings made less than 42 days in advance. All documentation will be stored digitally securely on OneDrive and be deleted at the end of each season (April – October inclusive) because we just know you will be back for more fun.

*Please read this and the rental agreement carefully and before you commit to hire, please be assured in your own mind that you can provide this information to Shellonyourback as outlined in the time frames above – Failure to do so will result in your booking being cancelled and you will be liable for charges at outlined in the rental agreement – any changes prior to hire after sending these documents must be identified prior to rental otherwise your insurance may be invalid... and we don't want that*

To hire you must:

Pay a refundable security deposit of at least £500 to cover Campervan Insurance Excess applies to all our Campervan hires with UK Drivers license and with non-UK licenses held within the EU, Canada, USA, Australia and New Zealand.  If your license is out with these countries, the license will be checked by our underwriters who will notify us of any additional excess.

Drivers aged 21-22 or 76-79 years old will pay an additional surcharge of £500, deposit totalling £1000.

Drivers aged 23-24 years old will pay an additional surcharge of £250, deposit totalling £750.

Main Drivers must provide their Photo ID driving license (front and back) plus 2 items of residential proof of the main driver as shown below.

Deposits are repayed via bank transfer within a day or two of the safe return of the van.

Pay a nominal cleaning/preparation/restock/admin fee of £30 which will be added to your rental cost irrespective of length of rental. This includes topping up Tea/Cofee/Condiments/Toilet Roll/Kitchen roll/cleaning equipment etc.

All our payments are invoiced via Squareup.com securely and you can make payment via a number of methods such as Credit card or bank transfer. Be assured all your details are safe within the payment systems we use and our OneDrive storage facility. Please note Squareup.com charges 2.5% handling fee per transaction you make with us.

Provide an online licence check via the DVLA site here digitally.

If you have any penalty points on your licence, please reference the table below and make us aware asap if you think there may be an issue so we can make appropriate enquires with our insurance company before confirming your rental and adjust your deposit amount.

When does the fun stuff start?
Phew! I know that was heavy, and the idea of Shellonyourback is for you to enjoy the good stuff in life in the comfort of our beautiful campervan. If you have read the above, and foresee no issues, then please contact us, and let us know you want to go ahead! Or we can discuss any potential issues and try to address them.
Then you can expect this:

Us to confirm your booking and provisionally book the slot out for you! Yay.

We will send you two invoices to pay when you get a chance and a rental agreement to sign via squareup.com as outlined below:

Scenario One: If your rental is outside of 42 days from booking confirmation
​

An invoice for the rental amount (20% to be paid within 48 hours of booking confirmation) with the remainder to be paid at least 42 days prior.

Another invoice for the remainder amount to be paid at least 42 days prior.

We will request you send us all the documentation as outlined above digitally at least 42 days prior so that if there are any issues you don’t fall foul of the cancellation policy as outlined in the rental agreement.

We will also send you a rental agreement for you to sign digitally within 48 hours of booking and your deposit/full amount being taken, this will be the start of your agreement with Shellonyourback and you, and you will be liable for any cancellation charges as outlined in the rental agreement.

You will also receive a seperate document to sign which is so that we have confirmation you have had a chance to view the insurance documents.

Scenario Two: If your rental is within 42 days from booking confirmation

An Invoice for the full rental amount to be paid within 48 hours of the booking confirmation.

We will request you send us all the documentation as outlined above digitally asap (within 48 hours)

We will also send you a rental agreement for you to sign digitally within 48 hours of booking and your deposit/full amount being taken, this will be the start of your agreement with Shellonyourback and you, and you will be liable for any cancellation charges as outlined in the rental agreement​.

You will also receive a seperate document to sign which is so that we have confirmation you have had a chance to view the insurance documents.

Whats Next?

Once we have received either your deposit, or the full amount, and your signed rental agreement/opportunity to view insurance documents agreement and all of your ID/Address documentation as outlined above then you will have a confirmed booking! Yay.

Prior to the hire Shellonyourback will make contact to confirm what additional items you would like on top of the standard hire as outlined on our website here. We will invoice you for these items if there is an additional charge.

Remember to pay your insurance deposit prior to rental.

On the day, or prior if arranged we will meet you to give you a brief overview of the vehicle and give you some top tips, we also have several video tutorials here so you can familiarise yourself with the van before you collect and ask any questions. We will also fill out a vehicle inspection sheet with your start mileage, return date and time, and note any damage or known issues with the van prior to rental.

We made it, now go and have fun! Bring it back to us for a brief inspection and a full tank of Diesel (just like when you collected it) and we will refund your deposit swiftly within a day or two via bank transfer as we like to be organised at Shellonyourback.
