Frequently asked Questions
The answers to the big questions! Work In Progress...!
HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES IT SLEEP?
Max 4. The van has a "pop roof" which elevates and is a very spacious double. The back seats fold down as well to make a double bed "downstairs".

If the weather is good you could leave the downstairs beds made up and still get access to the fridge and cupboards for bits and bobs as you will surely be dining outside right?!

If you are just a couple or a single, we recommend you sleep up top, leave you bedding up there and elevate the roof to give yourself head height during the day.
WHERE CAN I TAKE THE VAN?
We would prefer if you are taking the van to a registered campsite. They offer excellent facilities for Campervans such as places to discard water waste (ask for a dump point) etc. The staff are always very friendly. A simple google search of campsites will find lots. There are some great off grid campsites (No electric hookup) in the New Forest (https://www.campingintheforest.co.uk/)

Out the box thinking though, you could just pitch it on land where you have the owners permission, even a driveway for an extra bed for the night for guests etc.
DOES THE VAN HAVE ELECTRIC?
The van has a standard battery for the vehicle, and a "leisure battery". Most of the time if you are on a campsite you should book a pitch "electric hookup" more commoinly known as EHU. With this you can plug the van in and guarantee continuous electric feed to the van for lighting, the fridge/freezer to remain functioning and for the standard 3 point plug to work.

You can plug into a standard UK 3 pin plug too, ifs its on the driveway for example, this charges the leisure battery.
DO I HAVE TO HAVE ELECTRIC HOOKUP?
No, you can surivive for a few days/nights off the leisure battery .. There is enough juice in there to power the fridge freezer for a few days, normal lighting and the USB ports. Without EHU the 3 pink plug will not work though just so you are aware. There is also a Solar panel on the roof to charge the leisure battery.
HOW LONG IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO BOOK A VEHICLE?
We can cater to short notice hires, sometimes even within a few days as the van is generally good to go! however anything within 4 weeks will have the full price charged at booking. Best to book early to avoid dissapointment.

WHAT ARE THE PICK-UP AND DROP OFF TIMES FOR YOUR VEHICLE?
9/10am is our normal pick up time, with drop off at 5pm, however we are flexible to requirements or availiblity on our part - please get in touch with us, and we will do our best to accommodate you. We will let you know a rough time when you book and closer to the time when we know our availibility we will home in on some solid times.
ARE THERE ANY EXTRA FEES?
There are additional charges applicable depending on what extras you decide to add to your package. There is also a security deposit due prior to collection. Have a read of the hire process overview page to try and figure out how much your trip might cost. There may also be penalites if you dont empty the toilet for example!
DOES THE VAN HAVE A TOILET?
Yes! There is a small portable pull out camping toilet in the main cabin. It will be cleaned and full of toilet fluids when you collect. We do ask you empty it when you leave wherever you are please, or tip it down your own toilet at home and give it a clean please. Sites will have a toilet waste dumping point for you to do this before you head home. Its super handy when enroute with the kids or in the middle of the night.
WHERE DOES THE WATER COME FROM AND GO?
The van has 2 water storage tanks underneath it. They have a 40L capacity. When you collect the van the fresh water will be full and the waste will be empty. We do not recommend drinking from the "fresh" water, but its good for washing hands etc.

The waste water from the sink goes into the other tank which we request you empty before you leave with the portable waste water container. Please don't put any food stuffs down the sink, we dont want it getting stinky.
WHAT BEDDING DO YOU RECOMMEND/PROVIDE?
We don't tend to provide bedding, but do have 2 double fitted sheets which we would be happy to provide and we can wash them on return.

You can take your own duvets or sleeping bags and pillows. If you are really stuck let us know. It depends on the time of year, but its best to have a few blankets to grab incase you get chilly at night.
DOES THE VAN HAVE A HEATER?
Yes! The van has a nice little internal fan heater which is powered by the diesel in the fuel tank without having to turn the ignition on.

Handy on chilly mornings or evenings, as its a confined space it warms up quickly.

We also have a carbon monoxide alarm and smoke alarm on board.
ISOFIX?
If you know what this is, you have made people. Congratulations. Good news is there are 2 ISOFIX points in the back where you can mount and unmount with depressing regularity standard car seats of various shapes and sizes. Please note space in the middle seat is severely limited if you have 2 seats mounted due to the kitchen/cupboards minimising the space in the cabin.
DO THE SEATS SLIDE FORWARD IN THE BACK?
Absolutely, which makes our campervan better than some fixed arrangements in our opinion. When you are travelling to a site, slide the seats all the way forward so you can safely load your bounty in the back and then when you arrive, unpack and slide the seats to the back of the van to increase living quarters and get set up for night mode.
